Well our week of fun and adventures has come to an end. I must return to mommy duties and will more than likely be taking Kaison to the doctor. He was getting better when I left but I am betting he has a sinus infection.

So many thanks go out to my in laws for being brave and watching the kids.

Today's big adventure was going to the Tulum ruins and to Xel-Ha a water park. At Tulum we saw a whole city of ruins that was built on the coast. Then we were off to Xel-Ha which is a water park type of place where we went snorkeling and saw tons of beautiful fish.

Ek -Balam and Chichen Itza

We booked an excursion thru Alma Tours to go to Ek Balam, Chichen Itza and a cenote. Our driver is Arni and our tour guide was Louis. First stop of the day was Ek Balam where we were able to climb to the top of the ruin. The stair were very steep and not my favorite. With the help and encouragement from Brian and our new friends Justin and Jessica Christensen from Washington I made it to the top. The view from the top was amazing. Louis told us the because the land here is so flat that if we see a hill then under that hill is a ruin. After we finished there we traveled and had lunch at a la hacienda. Very yummy food. My favorite was the pork wrapped and cooked I a banana leaf. After lunch we traveled to Chichen Itza. Here we saw so much of the Book of Mormon supported here. The carvings into the stones were amazing. To learn about the Mayan calendar was amazing. We are so glad that we book the tours so we could see the evidence of the Book of Mormon.

Feeling Blessed

Being in Mexico was such a great learning experience and an awakening of sorts. While I knew that the medium income was not what we have in the USA , I may have expected more. While talking with our tour guide he told us a good week of work you would earn about 700-750 pesos or about $80.00 a week. How grateful I am for what we have. The life style here is not focused much on what you have or the house you live in or clothes you were. The people here are deeply rooted in their culture and beliefs. For those that are members of the church it is wonderful to see how the completely relate to the Book of Mormon. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhoneSent from my iPhone

Taylie's new glasses

We knew it would probably happen. Taylie had to get glasses. She found these super cute frames that look like leopard.
She was so excited to get them.

Kaison Birthday Lunch

For his 5th birthday meal Kaison wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese. So we waited until Brian was home and here we are on MLK Day. The workers here say its one of the busiest days of the year for them. Happy Birthday Kaison!

New iPhone 4s

I am so excited to get a new iPhone. The old 3G just wasn't running as good as it used too. Now I have to learn how to use all the new fun things with this phone. Maybe it will let me upload pictures now to the blog.
